I know Mr. George Pereira since October 2011, when I joined ABS as Marine Surveyor in Mobile, AL, USA. He was in charge of multimillion project and took me under his wing by providing training and guidance. I was impressed with his personality and professional approach to the assignments and ability to deal with issues in order to carry out tasks successfully. The clients were impressed with his knowledge of ships’ hull, machinery, outfitting, statutory requirements. His ability to work with people in order to reach agreement shows that he has a very strong diplomatic skills. Mr. George Pereira was in charge of completing one of the biggest vessels ever built in Alabama state (MT American Phoenix), which required very strong organizational skills. Extensive knowlegde of New Construction, Drydocking, After construction survey requirments of Class, IACS, Flag Administrations can be a big win on the side of the client, when dealing with a planned repair or emergency repair. For me it was a big pleasure, challenge and courage to work with Mr. Pereira, as he established standard of our local shipyard office work so high, that, even when he was promoted to be a Principal Surveyor, had to move to Texas and we were not under his command, we were able to work and even train new surveyors, utilizing same principles and standards he sat before.
